N.S. Madhavan

N.S. Madhavan is one of the foremost writers in Malayalam, with five short-story collections, a novel, a book of plays and a volume of articles to his credit. Some of his most noted stories are tales narrativizing events of communalism, such as the 1984 riots, the demolition of Babri Masjid and majoritarianism in Mumbai. He is the winner of Crossword Award and numerous State Akademi awards. He retired from the Indian Administrative Services and lives in Cochin. Presently he writes a weekly column for a widely read Malayalam daily, Manorama, in which he comments on politics, ideas, books, football and more.
