Public History: Towards A Credible Engagement With the Past
Without any exposure to the historical method, how can the public be expected to distinguish between credible and not-so-credible narratives about the past?

Srijan Sandip Mandal is a historian, specialising in legal history and historiography. He holds a PhD in History from the University of Hyderabad, where he received the Dr. (Mrs.) Sheela Raj Memorial Medal for the “best PhD thesis” in History. He is currently on the faculty of the Center for Public History at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology in Bengaluru, where he teaches in and manages the Center’s postgraduate program in Public History and Heritage Interpretation.
